Day 8: January 8th, 2014
Thankfulness for Playtime
Finally getting the chance to use the Cornhole set that I got the kids and our whole family for Christmas. We are having a blast. This will become a neighborhood and camping staple.
Fun with the kids… finally.
While it was awesome getting to spend Christmas week with the kids and Devon and Felipe, I literally had to lay there. Having cancer, getting surgery and being forced to rest/recover makes me thankful for the little things that I get to do with the kids.
My typical M.O. before all of my health issues was to say “no” when the kids would ask if we could go to the park, throw the softball, play a board game or something else. I made an excuse that I was too tired or too busy. Now… I RELISH the memories we make when I say no to my everyday stuff and say “yes” to their requests to spend time with me.
So, today, I am thankful for the little times and memories I make with my kids when I say “yes.”
