Thankfulness for Paul Simon
Paul Simon? Whelp, it’s the first thing that popped into my head, so I’m going to go with it.
I have felt like ka-ka pretty much for the last 48 hours, and about 20 minutes ago, I got up to take some nausea meds. As I walked into the kitchen, The X was playing “Graceland” and even though I felt poopy, I couldn’t help but dance.
Then Teresa Wood, my bff and Mexican Midget, walked in to see what was up and we were both dancing. I attempted some serious butt cheek shaking and it made us both giggle.
It only lasted about 30 seconds, but I was smiling and had a wee bit of euphoria.
I can think of a whole list of songs from Paul Simon that do that for me. So, I am thankful for him… because for about 1 minute, his song helped me feel happy, made me dance and smile and I got to have a short memory with Teresa. Thanks, Paul. Here’s a list of just a few of my favorites. What are yours?
Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard, Slip Slidin’ Away, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, Still Crazy After All These Years, Homeless, I Know What I Know, and pretty much all of the songs he did with Art.
Love, Thankfulness for One Minute of Joy in the Ka-Ka
P.S. Here’s the link to when he was on Sesame Street when I was little. I remember it. If you aren’t loving this video… then you might not be a friend of mine (-: Video: Paul Simon on Sesame Street.
