Day 53: February 22, 2014

Thankfulness for $WOW$

Holy Schnikies! I just released my gofundme page for my living expenses during the next 6-7 months, and I am floored and humbled.

Within minutes, the word started spreading and the stats started growing. I’m am seriously feeling the love, big time.

I am so thankful for people who grasp the magnitude of medical crises. I hope you feel wonderful when you give, even if it’s just sharing encouraging words or giving your time to me. My kids are truly catching a glimpse of what it means to “it takes a village” and the blessings that come from being thankful for everything, including cancer.

Which is a wonderful lesson for them to see and experience. They are checking the website constantly, keeping me up to date on donations. What I love about this is that even though I try not to let them worry about our financial situation by assuring them that “every little thing, gonna be alright,” I know they do worry.

Me having cancer is a big enough burden for them to carry. Knowing that we could have lost some things without the help of others is just too much for any kid to have to think about. Kids need to feel secure in everything, including money.

And YOU all are helping them to feel confident. You should have seen their demeanor today: all light and happy with big fat smiles on their faces.

I sure do love them. And they love you.
